Any advice welcome please. I was told once that if you board over and close a chimney breast where à fire once was you need to put in a vent? Not sure if this is the case or not.
A lot of different opinions there. I've done a couple of weeks of skimming on fire line boards now and have come up with my solution. First coat on then quick flatten just to level out, then flatten again to a really nice finish, then second coat like normal and just wait till ready for flatten...
It's everything that skimming on normal board isn't. Greasy, wet on surface but going off underneath etc etc. horrible. Basically what I want to know is do you do anything different on fire board than normal and if so what? I done a normal one today and it was lovely then I did pink ceiling and...
I know one female plasterer if you can call her that and she is awful but then so are the rest of the company. Haynes plastering in Norfolk I don't mind shaming them cos they ripped me off a few hundred quid and other subbies. The firm are absolute cowboys. Sorry for losing the thread a bit.
Can anyone please give me advice on forming bell drip at the bottom of external wall cos not sure how to go about it and also when to do it before the bulk of the wall or after or what, any advice would be great
Anyone got any tips on finishing the top edge on a 45 degree ceiling where it hits the flat ceiling cos I can never get a nice straight line? Normally the board work ain't dead straight but still must be a way of getting it better than I've been? Is there such thing as a 45 degree angle trowel...
Anyone got any tips on using board finish? I've mainly used multi in the past and am struggling to get as good finish using board finish. It's tending to go kind of greasy. Is it supposed to be slower or faster set than multi? Any advice appreciated
