Some things in life you just need and insurances are definitely one of them. Van insurance is a legal requirement but public liability insurance was not however some things to consider.

What if you knock over a bucket of water on someone's carpet its ruined could cost a lot especially if its a big carpet or you cant get it to match the rest of the house. Maybe you short out a socket and it catches fire.... these are just things that I know have happened.

Liability insurance gives both you and the customer piece of mind, I wouldn't say i don't care but it puts the worry out of your mind when doing tricky jobs it makes things a little easier.

My liability insurance is less than £100 every year its worth every penny just for the piece of mind.

The other advantage is that customers would use you over someone that does not have insurance because it puts their mind at rest.
