I was on a domestic job a few years back where the lady of the house had a few quotes. She told me about one, an Irishman who said he skim the whole house for a case of Stella and a bottle of whiskey.

Sold himself short, that's a hard days work, should have had. 2 bottles of whiskey . You sure he wasn't English and he wanted the drink to last him a couple of weeks ?
 
I done a couple of jobs for them and I be honest when I took it on I was shitting myself and thought Defo won't get paid but both times money was spot on all in 50's he had a pukka van all set up inside with work station for all the bits he done thing that Defo gave it away was the horse shoe stickers in the front windows and swallow tattoos he had he was a man mountain as well, I think you do a good job for them turn up when you say you will they are happy to pay
 
I do an estate in aldershot, all travellers house's, for local authority never have a problem with them even give me a hand hack off and clean up, not a bother

I think it's the mindset of some but ones I've worked for have been top blokes and paid all in 50s as well hahah would hate to be the man who didn't get paid though
