Vimark polyfix base coats

Hi all,

We have applied 4mm base coat of vimark polyfix over render carrier boards, with mesh embedded, went on a treat and simple.

We are now applying the top coat of the polyfix base coat 2mm, but its taking an age to go off and to try and flatten off then sponge prior to the top coat.

With the polyfix being an adhesive its like trying to get a really flat finish with floor adhesive... the product sucks and drags constantly. Should be half hour to hour, but its taking 5-6hours.

Anyone else come across this or found a better application method of the polyfix in the uk...? (Where weather is so unpredictable)....

I’d presume below 5c temperatures would affect it , not warm outside day or night , have you any heaters , what is the top coat called?

Its been 10 degrees today. So assumed would be sound as works down to 5.
We have a vimark coloured primer followed by the color.vk 1mm grain over the top.....

i fimd if uou can spat finish a basecoat. get a water spray and spray it then spat to take the lines out. works for us
Hi, ty, do you leave it to cure a couple of hours to spray etc or almost immediatelt after application....?

We have worked out applying with trowel and then retrowel with a refiner trowel flattens really well but leaves a few lines/ridges. But its the time to wait to go back and clear these that we still get suction and drag....

Happy with the final base coat.

Applying the final coat Polyfix at only 1mm vs 2mm would make it faster to go off and easier to flatten off and sponge..
