First wall learning curve

Hello all
Can I please ask some advice off some nicely experienced people to help me out.
I did a short 5 day course recently and have skimmed the 1st wall of many in my house over old plaster.
It was a thing of beauty and all uniform once finished but now, although mostly good for a first unsupervised go theres a fair few little patches where the plaster has pretty much gone and there are dips and holes in the plaster.
So firstly what I have I done or not done to cause that?. Is it lack of plaster or bad sealing or something.
And what's best to sort it out, can you pva and put a 3rd coat on?
Any and all advice gladly welcomed.
Trial and error I will get better

There could of been old dry wallpaper paste grime dirt you may have missed these bits with the pva could be anything looks like your coats are too thin

Just how thin was the mix ? Looks far too thin .

I hope you lot plaster better than you draw or I am wasting my time here...
Thanks for the other comments though

I did pva everywhere twice before hand using a roller, maybe some too thin.
My mix def wasnt too thin, that I remember. I think maybe prep wasnt done correct.

About sorting it out, can you pva and put on another layer?

If you can’t get away with a bit of filler and sanding then yes you can pva and go at it again but put a few coats of pva on because fresh plaster will suck the life out of your new coat.

And the next time someone takes the time to draw epic pictures of the Cookie Monster and Weird Ghost Sock Puppet try to show some appreciation for the art. Plasterers’ have feelings too you know!
