I was up against a price of £33m supply and labour on some new builds in Bristol last month.
Said I rather stick to my domestics thanks!
This was direct to contractor aswell and only about 300m!

I'd rather apply mono on a small site than domestic all day and take a drop is price
The cleaning up is s**t
Thin coat is better for domestic

We can get half a gable on whilst the soft lads are still oinking the machine out the van. Sprays are good if its one man and a labourer, provided it works out the van. 3 quick guys can outpace one though.
I could get machine out of van and spraying before you have buckets of gear mixed and on scaffold boss

Really plenty of margin in that price

Thanks for the tag Danny.

No I don't agree @Lox.
Maybe on site it might be good but not on domestic.
Your version and mine of good wages and profit is probably quite different.
Machine apply yes I could see it just about working but not hand apply. Not for me anyway.

The offer from @Rigsby is very good of him , to be fair all the experienced dudes who suggest to go with him are right.
Also good that op could get advise of here , it ain't his fault there is loads of different render product about and might be struggling to use them, end of the day companies will sell the bags to anybody (they don't give a monkeys) sounds like he has pride even by asking for advice and I'd rather see a plasterer not use to the product having a go than a builder type home improvement type handyman.

Just to be clear on this pal. Of the jobs I described being bad the main one was for a guy I do over 50k a year for on internal but odd render job. And I suggested getting a spray team in and doing it in a base first but the contractor was wanting it done cheap as poss so was set to fail from outset. And the other was a few garden walls which I did rectify at a cost to me and not the client.

And as an update on the original post I did the garage job which turned out great actually. Took advice, changed my method, invested in an I beam ( prob the best thing I ever did spent £20 on) . With my lad and a labourer 40 bags were spread by 12.30 and got a same day scratch. Will add photos when I go back to do the back.
And passed up on the other , larger job as I couldn't get the assistance I was after . I did source two local companies to go quote for the guy so as not to leave him in lurch. Rigsby ( amongst others) was very good to offer and I was going in with him for a day or two but schedules at my end and weather and on site issues at his meant it never happened but I am grateful the offer and would jump at the chance were it to be presented again.
Cheers to all for help, advice and (constructive) criticism.

Well pal i was replying to plasterman not you

If your now talking to me then I ain't sure I put a dislike on any of your comments cos they don't show on my feed. But if I was to justify one it would be that plastermans comment seemed thought through and carries some logic where as your replays seem just like a moody grunt until mentioning going on the course. Which by the way I've had lads start for me after two years at college and still not been able to skim properly so just going on the course isn't the answer.
My response was to show that I ain't know bodge it and scarper kind and that there was contributing factors and efforts made to do the right thing. The second part of my post was a general update on what's happens since the thread was started and was not specifically for your but the thread as a whole.

There's less drama and bitching and ' Mik don't like that I said this...' In my 14 yr old daughters school day than there is on this forum . I imagine plasterers everywhere crying into their prosecco as we speak.

You never put a dislike but obviously got the hump or you would not have quoted end of the day you said you lacked knowledge in mono so going on the course would have gave you some
