Hi there sorry for wasting your time but im just wondering if any plasterers would be willing to help me out , im really looking to learn the trade of plastering , ive been saving up for a 6 week plastering course the last while its gonna cost me £ 2300 and also 6 weeks paying rent an not working so basically its gonna cost me about 5 grand which is a lot of money for something that might not be worth it , im absolutely under no illusion that im going to be a qualified plasterer and take on the world after 6 weeks training, but on the other hand i couldnt afford to look for an apprenticeship so im trying to weigh up my options,im a painter and decorator by trade i really take pride in my job i served my apprenticeship and im in the trade 9 years but i always liked plastering and need a change as theres only so much painting you can take!if anyone is looking for a hand and is willing to train me up i would really appreciate it and work for free im 23 years old im originally from dublin but i live in london im a neat and tidy hardworker and i certainly wont waste your time time im reliable and well used to working on all types of projects i live in greenwich and willing to travel anywhere in London im available to start anytime after the 1st of january

thanks,Carl.

Buy a 3k van and sleep in that while doing the course, atleast at the end of the course you wont have wasted money on rent and will have an assett. Uncomfy probably but do able.

Best of luck to you mate.
Bit of advise.
Skip the course.
Watch some you tube videos, buy some kit, buy some timber and plasterboard and have a few go on that. Then with your offer of free labour you will learn what the course will teach you in the same time and use the money saved towards your rent!

Just re read the post, thought you meant money on a B & B etc...didnt realise you just meant the rent on your home.

My painter mates are get good wages ...it's boom time right now every trade I know is upto there necks...I would of thought u be able to easy get nearly same money painting that u could plastering ...especially London.
Why not concentrate on that and do the odd patch up etc

There's an old saying in Ireland "make hay while the sun shines". Stick at the painting for another few years because that boom happening now isn't going to be around forever! If you change career now, you'll have to drop your wages and by the time your trained up, a recession could hit which is quite possible in the UK with that brexit.

In saying that, there's me giving advice about sticking to one trade when I've jumped from one to the other these last 20 years thou my advice still stands
