Hi all
Haven't done any proper plastering in about 4/5 years. Did a level 1 & 2 at college and gave university a blast. Gotten sick of office life so hoping to go do my CSCS soon and get back into it after I sort my driving license. 26 isn't too late . Also done a bit of bricklaying...
Will admit I worded that piss poorly. It was 2013 the last time I was at college and 2014/15 since I did some skimming
I know how to prep, meant more of what I put up before plastering if that makes sense? I know of using dot & dab for plaster boards, putting plasterboard up against wooden...
Not gonna lie I used to pop on here when I was younger super eager and I can't get my head around some of the shite people say. I used to labour for a bloke in Liverpool and definitely did my graft but being called once a month wasn't worth it sadly.
Ill order both from Amazon and just return...
Potentially, it's a good shout but I think I have the knowledge there and I need to use lime on an internal wall that came up on the damp report (nothing damp about it but just to be safe.)
It sounds daft but I have an inkling i've forgotten some of the prep work before skimming :muyenojado...
Looking on a bit of guidance as I'll be using lime on an internal wall which has come up on a damp report. It's been a good few years since I've been at it and I want to make sure I buy the right type etc.
Even some pointers on a book would be brilliant.
Cheers in advance!
To be fair I did my level 1&2 but wasted my time in university. Here I am 2 years after than sat in an office and wanting to properly give it a crack as a living...
Just bought our first house so thought it would be a good chance to practice again before applying anywhere.
It's been a good few years since I've been at it and there are gaps in my knowledge.
What is the best book as a go to for catching up on things I've forgot? I've seen the level 1 & 2 city and guild books but was unsure if the level 2 missed out things from the level 1?
Any advice is appreciated!
I looked far and wide for an apprenticeship and couldn't find a thing. Thats left me working in KFC full time over summer, carrying on my level 3 plastering next year and doing another level 3 course just to fill the time. Eastern Europeans are cheaper than apprentices :)
Just curious on the most popular boots and the average life of a cheap pair.
I picked up this pair from the shoe market and its like walking on two bricks!:RpS_biggrin:
Sorry I haven't posted in a while but been busy at the moment. Having to move to Ireland for the summer because I can't afford to live on my own now :glare:
main reason In here though is, that I'm volunteering for a construction charity on monday and will keep people posted on how it goes. If...
Got no other choice mate, there is no other way of getting experience. I have family who are plasterers getting one job a week and they won't even hire me on that until work picks up :(
Thanks for all the warm welcomes
New brighton at the moment
I'm happy to even work for free a couple of times at the moment; either to show what I can do or learn what I can't. Nothing wrong with a bit of experience
They might be wanting games designers but even though I have a passion for...
Hi Danny, I made a large post on my welcome thread and it said it was being looked at by a moderator and never materialized? Just gutted because it was a good essay and I can't remember bits of it now :L
Fraid not tar haha and thanks. Just wondering how to make myself more employable at the moment, seems impossible. I'm doing my CSCS through college soon so hopefully that will help
Good on them mate, if I had more friends tell me good stories of post university I probably would have jumped the gun and went. Its been ncie taking these extra couple of years out any way because I've matured tons and I'm slowly working out what I want to do as a career. Either way I want to...
Thats the question mate
It sounds weird but I had offers a couple of years ago for games design and I decided to post pone it. I know of too many people who finished uni and couldn't get jobs for years so I thought havnig a trade would be a good thing to fall on. Turns out I'm good and enjoy...

Just noticed the private message saying to introduce myself, sorry about that!:RpS_bored:
I'm Connor and I live on the Wirral. Decided to put University on hold a couple of years ago and take on a trade and here I am. I'm finished my first year with a distinction and currently in the middle of...
