    Your probably right Artisan. I think fitting it into the hole will be the easiest route. Will still need to tidy up the edges though. There is the matter of the front of the house.... render/paint issues that need adressing but I will start a new thread and upload pics for that one. Cheers Gio

    Yes cheers mate... i probably should have intoduced myself first but just steamed straight in with a question . . I wanted to make it look nice though that was the whole point of doing it in the first place but I have gone and made it worse... so you rekon just fitting it into the hole then seal...

    Hello, I am replacing the pull cord as the old one had paint all over it and I am moving house so thought I would tidy up a bit....the phrase if it aint broke don't fix it springs to mind! In taking th old one off it ripped the plaster off it was attached to. I have attached the picture below...
