Mag plaster is now one of the top 5 selling products for Smarter Surfaces so definitely a lot of business out there :) my advice would be to make sure you are visible online, we have a lot of businesses buying from us and then they google someone who can apply the product for them.
spot on @flynnyman :) I think this video shows functional surfaces really well:
Very popular in the office/corporate space to transform whole rooms and get people to work together, brainstorm, plan etc
I have a wall near my desk in the office :D see below me reviewing all of our labels
Exactly and if you need some inspiration check @flynnyman pics ;-)
Or this one that just tagged us yesterday with a world map applied on the top, pretty cool: https://www.instagram.com/p/BVU2JkTB0Hz/?taken-by=cynthiaspencedesign
It's called magnetically receptive as far as I am aware so it attracts magnets but does not mess up with wifi signals or pacemakers (we got few questions about this one actually!)
@jamesthefirst if you really have someone in mind you can apply through our CSR and I will have a look for sure...
Cheers I will feed that back. In most cases you don't need a primer, we just include that in instructions to be on the safe side.
Here is a video but I am sure you don't need it :)
As few people here said construction and property development go up and down but IT will keep going up... and if you have engineering mind than my guess is you would be good with IT stuff. so if you are only 28 that's something to consider :)
Thanks both, I might say to tech people anyway. It takes a bit to dry comparing to wallcoverings for example which take something like 30 min to apply and you are done :)
Thanks everyone for your comments, it was definitely interesting and helpful.
Congrats to competition winners @gps @flynnyman @CeeVee @GypsumSnorter @smoother09 :bailando:
Please send me your address and phone number to barbara@smartersurfaces.com and I will post you plaster & magnets
Hey @booper, £116 to be precise and that's all you need. There are basic neodymium magnets on the website as well, pack of 10 is £8.95 (first4magnets have a huge range of magnets on their site)
No probs, it's 10 kg. Yes there is primer before for £17.00
Just on the price - there are trade discounts available which are not advertised on the site just yet, all depends on the project size.
Nope that was just on a plaster, hmm good point I might add that to the video list and try to get something done to show it.
Mag paint is less strong but really popular in offices, holds up to 7x A4 sheets with one magnet so good enough for me (see my office wall below :))
From bg site "Each 25kg bag will cover 5sqm at a thickness of 3mm" - are you sure about maths? :) :)
Hung a TV but not sure what was the exact weight.
My understanding is that it all comes to magnetite content as well as thickness? Smarter Surfaces plaster is 67% magnetite and paint is 50%...
Interesting as their website says it covers 5m2... but you can use 10m2 and still stick things on but maybe not as heavy or how it works?
Yep you can still paint or put wallcovering on the top. We painted 5 coats on the top (4 coats of colour and 1 coat of transparent whiteboard paint) and it...
It's £99 for 5m2 and gives 2.4 mm according to the application guide but let me double check with more technical people on Tuesday when I am back in the office
bg 25kg covers approx. 5m2 for £104.99 so Smarter Surfaces is cheaper?
Thanks for all of the answers so far (y). We will pick names out of a hat next week.
Hi Lodan, no, it's a ready mixed plaster. We have some customers applying it with a roller but then some of them came back saying the wall wasn't 100% smooth and application wasn't so easy. Support team here recommend a smooth edged trowel, is that something you guys usually use?
PS We have...
Hi all,
We had an interesting discussion going under the introduction topic so I thought I will tell you a bit more about the product... here it is.
There is a new magnetic plaster available on the market by Smarter Surfaces - world leader in providing innovative surface solutions (functional...
thanks all now that's what I call a warm welcome :LOL:
yes I have few photos... we will see! haha
mag plaster comes in a tub which is 10kg and covers 5m² / 53ft², it's quite new to us so any feedback would be great
