Hi, the whole base ment as had asphalt flooring already in place.

We have problems with a damp basement. The previous owner had dot/ dabbed the walls and put ordinary plaster board up. I’ve, knocked of the old dot/dab stuff and going to stud the walls before putting up foil backed p,aster board.should this be ok.
