PLasterers Wanted for several projects in South London and South East

It's bollox because i envy the few blokes i've come across who can get away with it :RpS_laugh: I'll stick a wall on 1 coat in a cupboard if i have some spare gear but i wouldnt do it on bigger areas. Don't look right and most one coaters i've met, go over the tapes and beads first anyway...

    whats citb deductions?

I heard it was true Phoenix but if that's a genuine case, how come there are still so many firms that don't charge retention or levy?? This can be a problem with being a subbie, whilst some firms treat you with the respect you deserve, others are completley diabloical!! Word get's around...

1 coating is bollox, i only known one lad who could get away with it but he had arms like f*cking tree trunks!! The firms i sub with always tell you they pay for beads or measure through but they never do. Crafty C*nts!

    whats citb deductions?

citb levy is bollox, as is retention. Also i've not had my retention back off anyone who has stopped it off of me. Not contractors or Builders. Total Tossas!!!!! Just another way of squeezing your nuts for more dough. It is good to look into the legal side of things especially if the company...

    eBay wars

It does get on your tits, these idiots who do these wonder courses then go out under cutting time served spreads. I took on a lad i christened 'Turtle Boy' who wanted a ton a day back when things were better. He used his finger on internals instead of a twitch (internal tool to you yuppies!)...

    sorrow for bovis.

Yep, agree with you all. You just can't beat a contractor or builder telling you they're struggling and seeing them a week later in a new range rover or a flash new truck. I love this game but you don't half have to deal with some knob heads who get ahead by pi**ing up every blokes back they...

    Hello Everybody

What the hell is all that about?? Just looked on fb. Why is he on a forum for spreads?? Must admit mind, that a guy i used to work for called a hand board a hawk, so i do too! Just like some people call a twitch an internal and a labourer a '****'. LOL Still all very odd though lads!

    Knackered

I have been on jobs where flo screeds been used and it hasn't settled/level'd properly and the chippies have had a nightmare sanding down door bottoms to get them to clear the screed. A lot quicker method than sand and cement but can get just as many cock up's. Bigger sites seem to love flo...

    Working Man's Web Domination

I bought this last year, to prepare for putting a site up. As well as this i bought one or two other bits and bobs and i was thinking of myself as quite the 'Techie Spread' but then my computor crashed and i lost every thing on my hard drive. Bang went that little idea LOL! Seemed a great...

    new website

Looks good to me, always a good thing to offer potential customers to speak to past clients. Maybe you could ask your previous clients to post some testimonials and offer a link to their website or contact info, if they're builders or what ever? Just a thought but looks good :RpS_thumbup:

    Thistle spray finish

Try trowelling that f*cker up on your tod lol! Looks interesting though and if it makes the job easier....... I just bet that if you did it from a subbing perspective, the big firms would give you a shite rate. Don't think it'll catch on with smaller jobs but i think it will on bigger jobs...

    Thieving skumbags!!

When i was younger and still labouring, me and my boss was on the top floor of a 3 story gaff, a right pig of a job, anyway we had the genny outside the front door. Next thing my boss is screaming out the window at these 2 gypo's who are running across this bit of field opposite the house toward...

    Oak beam

Smart as f*ck! I can do all round plastering, screeding and to a lesser degree drylining but i've been shown fancy stuff like this. Those stones look really real, must take ages but well worth the result i reckon. Cheers chaps.

how they get away with it

Tell me about it!, i'm a subby and i just started a bit for these builders that do insurance work. Skimming on Moisture Resistant Plasterboards

I've used "Thistle bond it" which is blue with aggregate in it for a key. But i'd just skim it as is! Mainly because a tub of bond it is expensive, you can't skim it the same day and it's a tw*t to skim!! Hope this helps :RpS_thumbup:

How to put right a bad job?

Some great advice for DC here i see. I'm new here but i have to say i've experienced my fair share of chancers, i had a guy come with me on a job i was desperate to get done. As soon as he started putting on i knew he was no good, plus the alarm bells rang when his tool bucket was smaller than...

    Lowering my prices or not.

re. Lowering price I went to the dentist tonight too! The dentist said i only needed a shallow filling and if i wanted an injection or not. Due to lack of better judgement and the fact his assistant is a hottie i thought i'd Rambo it to impress the little minx, all went well until the...
