thanks the replies guys but... i still am not sure what mesh I need to get.

Would be massively appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction about what to buy, or at least give me a brand name etc.

I take it that the mesh is like skrim tape but a lot wider?

Done, covered the whole wall with scrim tape, haha. Went ok, not perfect but better than before.
