SBR slurry on wet wall

Has anyone done an SBR slurry on a wet wall? I've got a 100mm concrete block garage that needs to be sealed and rendered. There is pretty bad water penetration and so I am going to SBR slurry it before I scratch it. However, the weather has been really bad as of late, and the blocks have soaked up a lot of water. What I want to know is whether I can seal a wet wall ? I personally don't see anything going wrong, since it's 100mm and the water can escape from the other side, but I may be missing something here.
