Would anyone consider spraying CPI/OCR and adding waterproofer and salt inhibitor admix for after a DPC job?

Thanks

Why make up your own cocktail when there is something's on the market for it? Asking for trouble mate. In the last month I bet I have been to around ten damp jobs and the problem was dabbing boards. I think In The next ten years that is going to be one of the biggest problems in Homes and I blame site lads who haven't got a clue about plastering, they think they can dab their way out of anything :) but hey ho more work

I agree flynny but it's more cost effective and much easier to get my hands on.

I mean I agree on the dot and dab problem but the pre bagged specialist damp stuff is very expensive. This job is upwards of 20mm thick in most places and 60m2.

I was thinking about doing it and putting SBR in the waterbutt , i have it on good authority it would f**k the ritmo water system up. It would mean knocking up the gear with a whisk and just using the ritmo as a pump. Just used renovating plaster in the end

That's what I'd have to do with the Eze though arti that's why I want to do it this way.

I've used Weber OCR with Sov Chem RenderMix about 4 years ago, only problem I've had with it is painter decorating early!
Other than that I've not had any call backs.

I'm sure I rang the tech team at Weber and they actually helped!

Cheers j green. I'll do a bit more digging.

At the end of the day bagged render is a more consistent reliable mix than mixing the sand and cement together yourself. As long as the additive is mixed well into the water I can't see a difference. Apart from price obviously but I'm keen to use the Eze because I've got a few of these jobs and I'd rather be spraying it on than all that handballing.

How is it more consistent and reliable when your adding your own ingredients?

I would say yes why doesn't the OCR come with the ingredients already in it?
Raises the cost and maybe affects its usability. It serves a good general purpose as it is so why change what works I suppose. I'm just trying to make use of the machine and make things a bit easier.

Fair enough I know what your trying to do but I think what you will save messing with the gear may be costly.

What's wrong with dabbing after a damp course??
After it has been tanked and a coat of s&c??

Why would you if it had been tanked and you gave it a coat of sand and cement? Your gonna say thickness but you have already set up to do it right, so why go off on a mad one lol

Because the client wants all the walls bang on like a new house. And they are proper pissed. And the top half of the walls are a c**t to knock off, apparently.
So I'll ask again..........

Oh I see, well why didn't you say that in the first place xx what you need to do is find a plasterer who can render a wall and make it spot on, and I agree, the cheek of the client wanting it spot on wether it's right or wrong. Like I said I've been to a number of jobs recently where the problem is dabbing.

Do you mean dabbing in old buildings ?

You are a dick at times flynny.

Firstly I'll float s&c as good as anyone.
It's all I do.

Secondly, the walls are that far out I'm even dabbing strips on. 3 inch in one wall.
Your saying there are problems with it but your not saying why? Is it a secret?

Anyway @Arti is the resident damp expert and he says there is nothing wrong with it. And I agree.

Done a few jobs where I've scratched in s&c all external walls and then dot & dab walls out much faster and easier and everyone's happy and no damp

What the f**k are you on about? If you don't know what the problem is carry on you prick.

Now now ladies lets not get aggressive. It's just work at the end of the day. Let's agree to disagree and move on.
Good to see you thinking of new ways to do things though Rossi ..was thinking with all your expertise within your company I recon it won't be long before the Rossi damp OCR spray system is released.
Have a good night.

Now you've insinuated on another thread that I'm the 'expert', when the truth is quite the opposite.

I've actually put it out here in the hope of getting educated if indeed it will create problems.
All I've heard of flynny is a load of put downs and that it shouldn't be done.
Nothing about whys or therefore etc, just a load of hot air.
I'll ask for a third time, is it a secret?
As I've been advised otherwise on here in the last week that it is fine?

I've not put anyone down only defended myself to your abuse, take the advise you took before and go with it. I've mentioned the last ten or so damp jobs have been down to, dabbing over the problem is the problem. If you have not seen the problem or don't know the problem why did you say in this thread it's ok then in the other thread i tagged you in it wasn't?
