Ballistics of Plaster Walls

Hey guys, I've seen plenty of data out there about how easily drywall is penetrated (after all, it's basically just thick cardboard). But I was thinking recently, my house is older and the walls are lath and plaster. I asked myself, if I had to shoot an intruder, would I stand a chance of injuring someone in the next room? I don't really think it would be wise for me to try shooting my walls to test it, so I took to the Internet. Unfortunately, most of the info out there pertains to drywall and I didn't find anything on plaster. Anyone have some experience with this?
Yep, I was thinking I'd have to end up making a test wall to shoot. Sounds like a good project for next summer. If anyone else has info, please let me know. Otherwise, I will post my test results whenever I do the test. I was going to try a 9mm and .45 as the 2 most common rounds for home defense. Any other rounds people want me to test?
Thanks

Greatest thread I read a long time ago!
I think most of us would like to do that every now and then

Didn't that legless guy in South Africa have a similar question?....... As far as I'm aware, his walls didn't stop any of the bullets........they might have gone all the way through and hurt someone had it not been for the swift action of his girlfriend............
I'd probably leave this one to idle curiosity....

Starting to sound suspiciously like laying the groundwork for a oscar pistorius job...

Try a 7.62 from an SLR then you can go through the cavity wal as well.

An SLR can shoot holes in the moon and that ain't no s**t neither. I'm surprised that the world didn't end in Glorious '82 when TWO armies faced off, both equipped with the mighty SLR.

I expect he was American and concerned about shooting bad guys through walls or something - they think about stuff like that a lot.

If you want to know how solid something is, forget pistols and see how it stands up to the one and only Vickers Machine Gun. Knock a hill down in time, never mind go through a stud wall.
