We use to have a massive metal vault inside a transit van that was bolted down and all teh expensive stuff went in there... the fact is if they want they will take it...

cordless grinders have a lot to answer for

That’s fine if you’re knocking up Yorkshire pudding mix mate!

Just buy one , try it out , if you manage to kiill it , which I doubt , just leave it dirty on show and thieves won't rip your doors off looking for an expensive labelled one
Over the years all my neighbors with their high security gates have been robbed of tools from their barns and workshops , I have old 5 bar gate with no lock , never had a visit , dirt bikes , lawnmowers ,, piles of copper , thousands in push bikes , all unlocked

I would send it to it’s grave on the first mix of 3/4 bags of dab!

I only mix a bag a time , that'll do 2/3 boards , I have several mixing buckets and presoak for 5 min before I need the next one , no strain on my mixer , if you're running a gang then fair enough pay for a brushless , I have enough sense to not overload a motor , my old one is on its 3rd set of brushes a ,nd still as good as new , got a 110 and a new 240 as backup , may seem DIY to most but never had a problem and don't worry about getting it nicked lol
I never work in big houses where I could need to save a few minutes to mix 3 or 4 bags of dab

Far too much of a faff knocking up 4 separate bags imo. All that time spent knocking up don’t earn you a pence mate!

If I knocked up 4 bags in a normal sized house I'd have to have a whole room of boards cut ready , not really practical , itd do the bathroom and small bedroom in one hit , I think it'd be impossible for me to get it on and levelled before it went stiff , 40 min lol

On a new build you could use 6 bags easy if boards are cut

Don't do new builds , refurbs usually room by room , no space to pre cut that many boards

I'm sure they do , my defense of an alternative approach is usually a bit devils advecote , but am making a point that my £50 eBay has done the job for many years and I can afford a backup as well as not worrying about it getting nicked

If you knocked 4 bags up you.d do 8 boards

I’ll normally stretch it out to 10 ;) (y)
Maybe 12 lol ,
I went skimming on a site with 5 different spreads , three of us in the basement , two stood around whilst one knocked up , no time saved their lol

Morning! Definitely not 12 where air tests are concerned.

Back on van break ins; personally I believe that if more people had glazed rear doors and didn't leave valuable stuff on show there'd be a lot less plasterers vans broken in to.

As I said I'm refurbs , no air test , I still would pass,
Space is crucial if rooms are small , I've posted about my tighter boards and accept it's not new site conditions this would also explain why thermals get a wet coat of PVA , thick dabs no

Yeah , sorry for usual divergence but it started with that point ,
Having a cheap drill makes you less of a target , thieves think theirs nothing of value in the back

I've got render pumps airless sprayers, auto feeds, all kinds of expensive gear never leave them lying around never leave the van out of sight, the best thing you can get when your vans parked up overnight at home is a Yale wireless alarm and put one of the sensors in the back of your van,

Can it not be wrapped in foil to prevent alarm signal or is it set up as on all the time and detects break in signal ? Serious tool thieves will know that
You just stick a sensor in the back of your van and activate it on a night, no one was no it's even there until you open the door or go in the back and then the alarm would go off
