My first attempt at skimming (photo)

    Skim coat over old plasterboard

Hi I'm looking to skim over old plasterboad. The old plasterboard is in not too bad condition. Would a coat or two of PVA (5:1) suffice or should I remove and replace the boards? Also should I use Multi or Board finish? Thanks
