Exterior wall so I’d want a waterproof render rather than hardwall. Brushing away the salts isn’t enough to stop it bleeding through new plaster surely

Hi guys Some plasterers are saying you can over skim with gypsum over lime aslong as the property has a cavity? Would really appreciate some professional advice on this. Many thanks
