Cheers, good to know. Fingers crossed the weather's ok tomorrow and Friday then.

That sounds about right from the timings they used on the other gable and back elevation. They were on in the afternoon and scratched in the morning. They got the front done in one day, render on first thing then scratched back from 7pm-9pm but that day was sunny and 17deg plus south facing...

Thanks Rigsby, that's reassuring. The weather isn't likely to be warm enough to cause a problem when they come back on Tuesday. The forecast says 12deg during the day and 5deg overnight. It also looks reasonably clear and dry so fingers crossed it'll get finished ok. They have another job to get...

Cheers for the advice. They've come to finish prepping the remaining surfaces today but are happy enough to come back later in the week when it's warmer to get the render on and scratched. To be fair, it's been milder recently and I don't think it occurred to him it was getting that cold...

Scratch render queries - any advice/opinions much appreciated.

Hi again, I looked at EWI but as we already have cavity wall insulation - loved finding that out while I was core-drilling the wall on a windy day... It seems a lot of extra money for a relatively minimal gain. Thanks for the suggestion though. Turns out I had my wires crossed re. materials...

Scratch render queries - any advice/opinions much appreciated.

Thanks mate, advice appreciated. Will just go with Enewall and put on the enewall protector. TBH we probably won't have enough to afford the windows for a few years as we've plenty other things to spend the money on with this house, but the rendering can't wait so will have to make the best of...

Scratch render queries - any advice/opinions much appreciated.

Hi all, this is my first post but I've been lurking around for a few months before we get our house rendered. Not looking to be a PITA for the guy doing the job by acting like I know it all, I just like to understand how things work and the forum has been great in giving me a bit of insight so...
