Yea I see your point windy but the course he is on about is only basically to board and skim its not too hard to pick up...but yes if you have £400 notes to throw away why not personally I think that stuff isn't to hard to pick up if you spend some time teaching yourself then pay money for more...
You don't need a course to learn that seriously find a wall anywhere like a garage or spare room wall and put up some damaged plasterboard I was picking it up like £3 a damaged sheet and just practise fixing the board different ways dot dab battoning isn't rocket science then start mixing gear...
Only thing I can think is maybe air bubbles that have popped maybe over trowled also not the most experienced plaster but there probs my first guesses :)
Knaufe day let me read the thread :) I may do if I can make it not been to anything like that before could be interesting didn't no if it was open to anyone?
Yea i understand mate :) I managed to rescue it but with great difficulty and some scraping...I hope to get to tag along with some plasterers on weekends but as of yet not had many offers so I just skim at work as normal my finish isn't bad I don't think but things like this deffo worry the hell...
Yea I don't do bad with pva but just wondering if was worth the money I'm always up for tips ie I always wonder how many trowels you do to make it go like glass I tend to do about 4 trowels in total all silly questions but as I'm mainly on council work you can imagine other plasterers don't...
I see thanks people do you get a better finish with WBA? Bond it etc? I see the price of it is a lot more but defiantly worth a try if it does (sorry probably a dumb question)
I may of done it was the external wall it's cold gear wasn't going off to quick maybe I was to eager or there was residue maybe I not sure I've only been skimming about 8 months and was abit unsure what caused it
I pva the wall then skimmed it and it went like cellulite was odd first time I've seen it customer had stripped the wall paper I pvad and skimmed as usual just this one part went like it...soo do I now just reskim that wall? I guess from now on if its had wallpaper on I should sugar soap it? Thanks
HI
i plastered a room today on one wall where there was wallpaper that i stripped off then pva twice it went like cellulite is this just residue off the wallpaper paste?
Thanks
Cassie I see your point to be honest just to get them to turn up now would be smooth enough today a gas man connected the hob...where the other guys went is a mystery
Haha as above not a clue unfortunately I was at work so didn't get to give any input but believe me it's shoddy it's a small kitchen didn't have time to adjust doors draws floor **** no doors or door frames yet mmm basically they fit 8 units (pre assembled) and 2 lengths of worktop in 7 hours lol
Where do you people find these people I can skim reasonably well in 8 months taught myself my finish is near same as plasterers I've seen I can board a bathroom out no problem set beads if you ask me should just make them do it and I'm sure a keen interest helps
