Hi all,
I posted here a while back about a problem with a dpc in which a company I used had to re-do the plastering, after injecting my wall as we had damp.
Sorry I can't find that thread but it was done maybe 5-9 months ago. They resolved it satisfactorily.
We now have cracks appearing in...
Cheers man.
I'll provide a pic when it's all done and dusted.
I have completely zero knowledge when it comes to this stuff so thanks everyone for the help. Appreciated.
Update on this.
We complained last Friday. Company surveyor came round on Monday. Said the corner needs doing again. Sent a different plastered round who said all of it needs taking off and doing again. Plus the skim taking to the ceiling as well.
He's started today and is coming back Monday...
The decorator has been cancelled, it's just a pal of mine anyway. He's the one that alerted me to the problems.
I did wonder when I saw the beading on the corner that something might be up...
What makes you say this? The rest of the wall (about 2-3 metres of it) looks fine, though they didn't tell me that they should have taken up to the ceiling so there isn't a line half way across my wall.
I googled plasteres in my atea, 3 companes from 1St page of google. Thsee giy's looked...
Took it back to the bare brick Saturday. Injected wall and put something on it (bond?) Saturday. Came back Sunday and plastered it. 3 weeks ago tomorrow.
Would it matter massively if the plasterer plastered onto a still wet bond?
I'm not happy with the job they've done. You can see the beading on the corner and he hasn't skimmed all the way up, so I'll have a line half way up the wall that you'll see once the painting is done.
All of that plaster is new. The old stuff was taken off (he wall was taken back to the bare brick)
A damp course was put on and then it was replastered.
Had a company come 3 weeks ago and put a damp course in. It hasn't fully dried in 1 corner yet. Where it is drying, it is drying unusually, please see photo.
I have a decorator booked for this evening, as well as some skirting being fitted. Do I need to cancel them?
