    Rendagrip

Just out of curiosity if you were render and skimming the inside of say a bungalow how would you render over the wallplate. I've always Emled over it and every plasterer I've worked with for the last 30 years has done it that way with no issues. With the plate strapped and the wait of the roof...

    Rendagrip

Get a 6 or 8 inch roll of stainless steel EML. Then nail the EML to the wallplate. Make sure the EML is wide enough to cover the join between the wallplate and block work to prevent cracking. Nail it well with galve clout nails. Stretch the EML as you nail it so it sits nice and flat and get a...

    You tube plasterers??

No chance can you learn from YouTube. I've had agency spreads on site with me. Trowelling across beads, bells on the bottoms of walls, trowel marks everywhere, corners like they finished them with a spoon. I am like pal trowel up the beads, you got hollows everywhere and watch the bottoms of...

Did anyone ever have a overboard fail.

A friend of mine rang me to tell me the newly plastered landing ceiling was cracking everywhere. I get down there sharp and what the f**k. They only got some guy in who said he did loft conversions to put a loft hatch in. The Muppet had cut through all the joists. Then put up the 10 mm ply frame...

    Opinion on plastering job

No not at all you could be very experienced and skilled in all aspects of plastering to a high level. That's what I am trying to say in the post. A customer can ask to see there skilled workers CSCS card. It means they are qualified but sadly doesn't mean they are any good. Some of the best...

    Old school ,simple

Don't get me wrong you can get a nice finish with Dura. Bit of a learning curve. On price I just found you gotta work harder to get a nice finish and price work is hard enough as it is. Pure genuinely is in my opinion the nicest finishs I've used from BG. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

    Old school ,simple

Just done a big job using Dura and Pure finish. The pure is the best finish I've used from BG. Dura is the worst. When you walked in the rooms skimmed with pure the air was lovely fresh and clean like an evening stroll through a summer meadow full of wild flowers. Wow us all I can say well done...
