Hi there I'm new to the forum

Looking for some advice on how to build good contacts for some more work

I'm based in Liverpool

I'm 29 I've worked as a plasterer for 12 years with firms and the last 6 years with a guy that's now retired due to being ill, my work has gone quite although I get my own jobs every now and then I'm looking to get more work asap

Any advice of the best way to go about this would be much appreciated

Thanks billy

Welcome

Did you post before? I swear there was a scouse lad on here looking for work due to his boss retiring. Maybe search for him and team up/put your heads together!

"..... matchmaker matchmaker make me a match...!" :D

A scouser looking for work? Are you sure it wasn’t an unlocked car?

Depends what sort of work your looking for? Maybe try my builder get van sign written, fill local cafés,post office, with flyers cards. and get in pub with a pocket full of business cards get chatting to folk leave um everywhere local papers or a lot of towns villages have a local directory with business advertising it's all about how much you want to spend really! You can get a brilliant website built but then this can be a waste unless you're coming top page of Google search as it's all sponsored adds now! Checkatrade ect. Population is so big and there's a lot more spreads out there these days. Very hard to compete with established guys it's always good to get in with a few builders or loft conversion companies if ya can. Nothing wrong with giving people a call or sending something out with a description of your services and portfolio of work.

Don't bother with van n my opinion. Had mine signed for 7 years bet I got asked 5 times . Not bothered with new en. You need to get in with a builder do a good job for him then he will recommend you to another builder and so on . Once you get bout 5 or 6 they should keep you busy if your on yours own . The private jobs will come in but if you got enough on you.ll just learn to bang a good price in to cover the moaning you get of builder for missing a few days

Iv found the 2 key things on domestics, sheet up like f**k, they especially love roll and stroll stick down as soon as you walk in, and just as important get on with them, lick their arse a little tell them you like their dog/cat/house/car anything and spend an extra 10 mins talking b*ll***s after your done they love it makes em feel like they’ve got their money’s worth. Next thing they’ve recommended you to all their friends and family for being a nice guy and extremely clean

Yes Manchester and Liverpool is very busy .tower cranes all over Manchester at the minute
