Advice on recoating a polished plaster wall after it’s been waxed

I have recently completed a polished plaster ( marmorino white) wall and the client isn’t happy with it. I have used a spatula wax on the finish so there is good protection on it. Just wondering if anyone’s had to recoat a waxed wall before and what the process is. ( done the course and done 4-5 walls at home which turned out pretty good, this was the first paid job and the customer is not happy, bit if a nightmare tbh)

Feel for ya bud. Theres nothing worse.

Never done it but I would think sand and prime.

Sorry to hear they aren't happy mate. Rather than sanding and going through lots of pads getting clogged with wax use white spirit neat to break the wax down and remove it. Then you will have your marmorino wall. It will be a nice base to go on again

Nice one. It’s a good idea that’s probably worth the try. Not sure how deep it will penetrate into the marm but the options are slim. I may try a small test patch tmrw and see what it looks like or wax one of my sample boards, then try and strip off and re coat

It won't really make much difference. If they want the wall 're doing then strip the wall of wax and start again using the current marm as a base. It may need a light sand depending how closed in and polished you made it. I'm assuming that it was done quite recently so no need to prime again the material can go straight on top
