I was wondering if anyone on the forum uses one of the automated drivers and if they use them that much or is it just another gimmick

Got a dewalt one it’s ok for small jobs but am gonna upgrade all drills to hilti at year end , does give me neck ache tbh too

Makita brilliant bit of kit,use it for price work not on day rate for builders,
Are the makita ones any good? I’ve been looking at getting the dewalt lately because I’ve got s**t loads of tacking to do soon and some people seem to rate them better?

They are ok tend to jam a bit mate has a dewalt one brushless one and its quite a nice bit of kit,i would change but all my kit is Makita.

a Senco 14v is the favourite we have an 18v one to heavy.
we have been looking at the new Festool driver, the motor only starts when the gun is pressed against the board this gives the battery a long working time.

Do you have to use the dewalt screws or can you use any brand without them jamming mate?

Use any mate it has jammed a few times lately but a quick blow down the front end clears the dust then game on again, it is a good collated tbf goes into mf fine too
Maximum size screws 55 mm

I’ve got the festool one, money well spent. Had sencos and makita before this, they made me give up using them till I saw the fes in action. Them cheap Chinese screws are and headache though always get senco or dewalt screws.

I prefer senco over makita. Seem to be better balanced in your hand so hit target better. Makitas seem to jam alot as well . Though mine got robbed out van so need a new one

I'm makita too mate great at times but there is a recurring theme on the thread here....it does jam with regularity

100% worth it get the Dewalt Collated, its the best for price and workability, tacked out tons of houses with my one still going never jams, get the smaller batteries for standard size screws and the bigger ones too switch if your using larger screws as they will lose battery life much quicker plus they have more guts.

Once you learn to angle the extension piece with the swivel mechanism you can get into awkward spots but I always have a single feed around because a good lad doesn't leave f**k**g coat hangers to kink your best trowel.

What are you talking about Chad
Burt at his finest mate..Smokey and the bandit..Sally co-starred small but perfectly formed..Had a few scoops with the lads last night talking about the kit etc seems weve all got different screwdriver makes I would readily swap mine..they reminded me about the first week I had it..Slipped off the hop up and put the screw thru top of my finger and into the board/stud..was stuck there alone so had to call the joiner from upstairs..took him 3 attempts to unscrew it with the impact he laughed so much..bas..rd..

I had a go with the Festool but preferred my Hilti.

If any of the regular lads on here are interested in a 110v Makita collated gun we've got two that we've been meaning to sell for ages. Make me an offer if you fancy one.

After buying a Hilti nothing comes close. Not the cheapest but they are the best. All the lads that have tried my hilti wish they had one

Check my Milwaukee corded collated gun. It fires up to 75mm screws ideal for insulated boards on vaulted ceilings.
