Why not ask for cash and if the person is too old and scared to go to hole in wall. Why not offer to take them and stay with them while the get it for you. Suits both parties then.

Some people may only know the outside world from the news and newspaper headlines and it may scare the shite out of them to do internet banking and go to a cash point.

Because Dom is always chasing builders who march old people to the bank....there's nothing wrong with it per se but people don't want the question mark when aunt Ethel tells the family what you've done.

"Come on I'll give you a lift to the bank and we can get that £25,000 out for the first stage payment."

I know. Its not what I meant. Wasnt thinking.

Transparency for HMRC, banking rules regarding cash deposits and proof of source, the ability to track payments and tie them to invoices mean I don't accept cash at all. On the bottom of all my quotes and invoices it says "Please note that we cannot accept cash payments."

BACS for preference, cheques under sufferance for amounts over £2k, and cheques with an additional charge if they're under £2k. (y)

My god how things change. And what do you think the government will reward you with for being so loyal?

So clean and legit Larry. You must pay a fortune in tax. So much of your hard earned tax going to scrounging economic refugees.

I couldn't give a fly fcuk about the government. What it does do for me is remove any issues, doubts or grey areas in the event of an audit. So I have peace of mind there. Then as every single penny paid to the company can be accounted for in minutes, and bank statements always tally it reduces accountancy fees which saves money.

It also allows me to report anyone else without fear of any blowback, which is handy if you get some smart 4rse subby or customer trying it on.

Well believe me they certainly do.. Usually their friends, themselves, their families and anybody who is a supporter of their cause................whether or not it means the destruction of you or your families livehood or way of life.

Well so far I've been working for 36 years, and no government of any political persuasion has damaged, let alone destroyed, me, my family or my livelihood. Conservative, Labour or the Random Pansy Licker Party, they're all the same self serving gobsh1tes.

They play their games, I play mine, the world turns.

But do your best not to fuel the fire that will intimately burn you. They (the globalist Rothschild mafia) rely on honest people like you to keep yo their agenda.

Yes, but the only danger is if you don't realise what's happening and your place in it. If you take what they tell you at face value you're fcuked. If you see through the lies and half-truths and act accordingly whilst remaining within the rules and proving you're doing so there's very little to worry about. Not that worrying will make any difference other then giving yourself an ulcer anyway.

I don’t mind paying my fair share of tax to be honest, how can lads gripe about nhs waiting lists etc etc then do cash jobs, and also why should I do the customer a favour and let them avoid paying tax in avoiding vat.
If everyone paid there tax including mega companies like the Starbucks and the like, we’d be doing alright.

I don't think that's the reason you have waiting lists and I think vat was bought in to pay for the Common Market as it was then.

You can argue the miss management of the nhs or the wastage etc, but a functioning society every one pays there tax, other wise you end up with basket case economies like Greece or Portugal that are cash societies.knobs doing cash jobs and evading tax yet they have kids at school or use council services or nhs etc. Hmrc are cracking down on cash tradesman I’ve heard a few horror stories recently about investigating tradesman, your wrong in the head if your still doing cash jobs in 2018, times change.

Have you been on TV?

Nothing stands still and I agree times are always changing but the day a cashless society evolves then you will find something else takes its place even if it is 2 pigs, 5 goats and half a cow.

I think it's a positive thing for the trade everyone bank transferring can only push prices up on domestics!

If you all went cashless the banks would have field day. They would be in complete control of your finances.

Push up prices? There's a possibility of yet another crash.

You talk some b*ll***s. You saw someone with two trollies and decided that there was no recession?

Dung heap for this post.

There's plenty people in the building trade who will vehemently disagree with you. At the worst of it, I was down to £120/week some weeks, down from £600.

If you are talking about events of around 2008 then the UK escaped the recession largely. The next one well??? We were told if you want something, then save up for it. It worked but more importantly it kept you out of the clutches of others who want you in as much debt as possible.

And other places were worse than that.

How long you been plastering???

Your absolutely deluded!!!!!

My experience was the same as @carys I saw the recession on the news, but it didn't make a blind bit of difference to me or anyone I know. Purely anecdotal evidence I know, but people were spending as before.

I started the business in it's current form in October 2009, it's done just fine. the only thing I noticed was a pick up in enquiries a couple of years back when all the site lads left domestics and returned to the sites.

I'm not saying it didn't affect some, but it certainly didn't affect all.

I wasn't on the tools at that point....I'd just come to UK from IOM and didn't know a soul. With no network, it was a better idea to use my HGV1 than scratch around for work with other people to feed.

Transport is a really good marker for recession because transport feeds retail.....and believe me, retail was down!!!!!

Partly ....... because of the state handouts which werent available to people in previous recessions.

State handouts are just fantasy money invented by governments who cannot manage the economy but use this fantasy money to keep themselves in power. The result is the country is basically bankrupt and stays that way for many years.... IF .... they are extremely lucky. If the muck hits the fan then you would find out about a recession.
