1.5mm silicone render, cracking all over

Just confirm the facts and what I said above, don’t add or change the subject if you want to learn a painful lesson and realise you are dickhead, who doesn’t uses his head and doesn’t have the backbone to admit it, which turns you into ....... what is it a dickhead, without a head and bone? A f**k**g sad waving and hanging worm!!!!
So is it yes or no? Simple question!

I’m only a dickhead because I continue to show you up for what you are .......... a t**t

A man who come on here to belittle and act a c**t, accuse and throw wild accusations around without evidence, and to act up to the real nuts.

Your a phoney, your reputation is f**k*d by a newbie like me.

And again, google paragraphs your illiterate f**k

Answer my question you bellend.

Why did you say that 500ml could not be spread by trowel and a brush would be needed.

The little video we did shows otherwise?

Answer before you get a hernia

Yeh, you are right! That laughter may well get me a hernia, but all I need is simple yes or no ! What’s so hard to sum , read and agree! It’s all here I am not making it up?

Like I said, continue to dodge the question and try and move your argument.

We answering this question sloppy chops or what?

Got a shepherds pie and a bottle of hendos waiting here....

I’ve answered enough for you, how about explaining why you said watering down silicone by 500ml was no good, need a brush etc.

And then apologise to me
Ok, I’ll take that for yes then, I guess, if it’s a no..... toooooo late.
The silicon top coat is made in harsh conditions for harsh conditions and it’s quite resistant to abuse and exposure to the elements. Your first comment was suction, sun and all kind of climate changes to which as I said the silicone is extremely resistant. To make things worse you asked the op to add 500ml of water to the mix to help him spread it thinner and avoid the cracking! WRONG! Here is where you can tell the difference between dickhead and someone who thinks before he acts! Adding this amount of water will change the silicone structure and basically ruin the whole idea of choosing before any other render. And that’s not all! You say sets slower and gives you time to work it. WRONG AGAIN! Adding so much water actually makes it more labour intensive, if you really care, than adding less water. If you have sprayed it , as you say, you would know the difference between adding water to the mix and not adding any, or if you have to - minimal, almost none to the mix. The difference is HUGE- in one of the cases you have very uniform finish and on the other side you have the aggregate more or less like tyrolean. And that’s the answer to stupid question- why not 500ml ? Because you try to alter the mix as less as possible to achieve maximum results!!!!
And don’t try to say I did this I did that, because if you did ..... you would know where to stop before embarrassing yourself again ..... and again..... and again with every post!
Pathetic!

The point was you said it couldn’t be spread by trowel after adding 500ml of water.

I quoted you, up there.

It would need a brush, you said.

Slowing the setting times down on most materials by adding more water will weaken the finished strength of a product, such as concrete........

But that’s not the question here.

Why did you say adding 500ml would need a brush to apply.

I’ll give you 10 mins to google again.

And my first comment was the chap had put the gear on, on a very warm day and could have done with thinning it out to have more time with it and spread the gear easier for a better finish.

You are turning it into a paint and wouldn’t matter whether you are using a brush, trowel or roller. The effect will be the same. You might even get better finish with a roller tbh. Start using your head , you idiot!

Yes, spraying with less water will not go through a hopper gun, it spits. The material is too thick.

Hand applying in colder weather neat is ok, 500ml added In the summer in direct sun, while I agree will weaken the material ever so slightly, as with any setting material, will aid in application and make it easier to get a decent finish.

500ml on 25l isn’t going to compromise the strength of the material that much, a 1/50 ratio

Now now! We are getting somewhere!
It makes huge difference if you add 250 or 500 , trust me. The difference as I said is the distance between the aggregate when it sets. Look at your finish and even hand applied with that amount of water you’ll see more of the aggregate next to each other, which resembles tyrolean, but without the high spots. That’s thanks to the water driving them together. If you silicone content is higher, it will keep them apart and you’ll end up with way more uniform finish.

And btw, this, this sort of conversation I can do.

Not the silly insults, accusations of being a ginger. Not having a clue.

I can agree to disagree and have an adult conversation,

It I will stand by what I said, I thing the op would have benefited from heavily watering down his material on a 20 degree day in direct sunlight.

A heavier texture or not, he would have had a better finish and found the job easier than what he ended up with.

We shouldn’t have had this conversation if .......
I don’t care what you stand for or what you believe in! My point from the very beginning was it’s a public place and you should think twice before you post something that will come back to the trade!!Insults, swearing, names calling...... can’t affect my judgement. I was fuming when you started telling the customer how much to expect to be charged, when prices vary and you didn’t even say the job! That was my breaking point. And the insults followed only cos you didn’t come clean and to be honest I did let you of the hook until you started chasing me again for what reason I don’t know?
Anyway, the lesson tonight is about exploring the unknown and not afraid of failure, as this is the only way we can progress- using our heads and curiosity.

No, our system is

1 spray followed by

1 takes excess off with steel trowel then

2 rub up.

And to be fair the finish is very uniform.
If you are good with the sprayer , you wouldn’t need any trowel. Saying that, I use the float only as I found the finish perfect.

Spray nice and uniform, without any excess
Come back with the float only to push the silicone back. There is no excess whatsoever.

That’s my system. Not saying yours wrong , but bare in mind I used to do it like you. Practice and experimenting brought me to another level.

And when I spray I don’t need second person and can stop wherever I want and come back whenever I want without leaving lines.

On that note, I am fed up of getting phone calls and looking at jobs that have been f**k*d up and not done correctly. On here and in real life. That’s why I like to try and give some good info to avoid people getting taken for £0000 and hopefully encourage people to look into more than just the price.

Honestly, I learnt the correct way. 6 months driving 3 hours to Liverpool there and back for £9 an hour to learn 10 years ago.

While I understand your frustration at prices being banded about in the net, it’s happening, and will
continue to happen.

The rendering industry is not a closed shop anymore. PFT & P1SS barging machines out, galaxy, Rendit, SIG, Amoroc, minster all banging materials out while manufacturer training days full of plasterers trying to jump on the band wagon.

It is sinking, believe it or not we are the most expensive around here and charge not much more than what you mentioned in the other thread regarding the phone call.

It will go the same way as Plastering, boom, bust and never recover properly.

The people you try to give advice and save ££££ have taken advice and saved ££££££. This is why they are on here- to try and save even more ! That’s the sad fact and in most cases we fall for it!

100%

It already has gone to s**t imo!

To be competitive we will have to move with the market, what else can I do.

What really annoys me is when we go to a manufacturer training day my labourer (thick as f**k) is twice as fast and twice as neat as the plasterers there, my labourer cannot plaster btw.

So after heated debates in the parliament.....

do I hear an apology coming.......?

How’s about an agree to respect each other’s views and appreciate we may take a different approach to get the same end result ...... a decent job.

If anything you owe my missus an apology as she just had to eat burnt shepherds pie as I was busy giving it large and forget the oven was on.

Ahhh OK. Thanks mate. Looks like I've missed a few steps them! I will rub up with the steel and scrape back the excess. Then use the plastic to rub up. Will report back next week.

Thanks to all who have replied for your help
I only ever do it all with steel don't play with it on in sections very tight back straight over with trowel and keep the line going piece of pish!

Nothing, but I won’t be happy if i

right! A wise man always knows when to speak and when to shut the f**k up, and I think I have said enough for tonight. Last thing I will say is ....... that was exactly my point- there are many ways to skin a cat and doesn’t matter how good or quick you are , there is alway someone better!

And yes, apologies to the mrs!

And the apology i thought was coming wasn’t for me. Never took it personal from the beginning btw.I knew how it will finish.
