I often have to wait 120 days before the invoice goes to accounts then it is paid the next month... that creates all sorts of cashflow issues
 
Get them to pay £1 bank transfer while your on job. This then can be confirmed as received and gets the conversation of payment going. If I hear one more story of people saying I transferred money that disappears, or wrong account number used etc. All in the media about this. Once set up details remain in the account forever good to go for next time. Also don't write account number down. Print the account number, and carry in the van. I think 7 - 10 days max then chase up payment.. cheques are a pain, but hardly get any these days. Don't see cash either

It’s fair to say now we are in a time where certain percentage of people live in this everyone owes them something world mate , for me on smaller works I do have started to write out payments and especially deposits on small render works anally , most pay the deposit and it’s good to sieve out the time wasters , only say this now after non payment earlier this year which still on going , internal few day jobs I never seem to have a issue with payment but do get ones that simply forget about transfer after which think is down to there life’s have moved on more than they don’t want to pay
7 days tops mate I’d wait and keep contact pressure for payment if it gets to 30 days bang in a final reminder and follow through with court action , if you want any advice pm me mate it’s not hard and always fight for your money

How much u get stung for? It's easy to get ur money back if your in the right u just threaten them with a court letter and ccj etc,I get debt companys all time ringing me asking if I've had any non payers in last 5 years
