Block difference for sand and cement

Members online

Hi all,
Simple question. I've never know a difference but a customer tells me that medium density are better to render in than high density.
Does anyone know if there is a difference please?
Help appreciated
Cheers

I don't believe so, he's just a farmer doing his own extension. He's read some where that external render gets a better key on medium density as opposed to high density. ??

Mediums best for me

High (often beige here) are quite a smooth closed cell/face and gear can have agg 'locking in' - especially normal muck just laid on.

Themalites and lightweights are what they are, suck like a c**t and can have agg keying because of it.

That said all can be ok, you just need to tailor your prep for each

Some are best with scud or slurry some better with grit, some just sbr

Needs must on each
