This government delivered Brexit and are cracking down on migration and making it hard for corporations to use cheap labour in favour of training our own.

This is what we need...already noticed the difference.

Lots of failures by the Cons but this has got my vote. Labour already looking to reverse and bring in cheap labour. Unbelievable.

Ley word in that report from MP was PLEDGE.
They all pledge and never deliver.

Brexit was delivered by his government want British workforce and British manufacturing
David Cameron thought that Brexit would never have been possible and it bit him on the arse, they never wanted Brexit in the first place.
Don't know how old you are but the tory government sold/ privatised lots of industry that made other business owners go abroad to make money.
Them Slags and their corporate ideals suit keeping the rich rich and the working class scraping by.
I believe a big part of society's failures and unemployment is down to the loss of Great Britain's industry demise.
People need purpose, no incentive to work as the lazy are happy to scrap by on handouts.

Labour opened the floodgates and it had a terrible repercussion on the trades...its been a while since I've heard we had a '' builder build our extension or so and so from '' says he will do it like this for this much or we had a team of '' builders they were cheap and very hard working...

It meant many left the trades, nobody trained anyone up and ended up with a huge skills shortage.

Forget Conservative/Labour, it's pointless.
Let's put it this way either party could have thought that we should elevate our own people by pouring money into training and making our people the best.
No instead we'll just flood the Labour Market, so that Pipa in Chelsea can get a cheap extension.
The chattering classes freely spouted the lie that british trades were lazy rip off merchants.
The skilled working class in this country have been shat on for decades.

You would be happy with the general election then? Labour don’t have backbone Im not a Tory in any sense but just for war sake be happy with what you know

Blair made a fortune during and after, Sunak same, ditto the other Suits, but Boris had to go round asking for handouts to bail him out of debt.
The only reason Sunak is still PM is because the Cons genuinely don't have anyone else capable, much less willing, to take on the job. There were only 3 possibles, none of whom those-who-decide felt were up to the job. - from an ex-MP who knows them all.

Doesn't matter who gets in, none will spend anywhere near enough money on the Military.
Personnel number's are at an all time low along with resources.
Military no longer proactive just reactive as tax money going abroad, sick, unemployed, banks, legal, bureaucracy etc.
There's never been a meaningful war since WW2 and things will only change if and when the s**t hits the fan.
Don't waste your vote on Defense pledges.

I don't agree. The military should be about defending our country from attack, not the capability of marching off around the world getting involved, or starting wars in other countries.
IMO the armed forces should be small but highly trained and well equipped, the nuclear deterrent is what truly does the work of defending this country.

While I agree that foreign 'adventures' shouldn't be the focus, we should be ready to fight on wider fronts if need be.
A dedicated defence force could be small and well trained, putting that training into practice is the only way to insure an effective fighting force.
Personally I'd want a military force that can project power if required.
Nuclear weapons aren't a defence anyway, they'll only get used once and that's it.

I didn't mention anything about going to other parts of the World or starting wars in other Countries.
I agree our forces should be well trained and equipped but not small. Contrary to alot of people's opinions on the forum you can not win wars or campaigns with missiles, bombs, drones, or AI you need boots on the ground.
The hardest part of any war/campaign is not winning battles, it's holding and defending that that extra land after the battles are won. And that takes man power or boots on the ground.

Well national service might be back. I think it's a good idea. Even for just a year.

The only peeps going to war are pawns for the rich/corporations. The whole idea that humans were constantly going to war for some great leaders just reeks of the Jehova/Zeus narrative.

Wakey wakey
