Hi,
I am an amateur plasterer I’ve only done a bedroom in mine, but got a few other rooms to do.
Obviously as an Amateur I need my plaster to stay wetter for longer so I have more time to work it before it starts setting, but the Thistle Multi Finish in B and Q all has this green square on the bag that says Fastset finish. I’m not skilled enough to use it as it goes in really quick, it starts going like clay after about 25-30 minutes its mad and I’ve been trying to put my second coat on really runny to compensate for it setting quicker for when I come up to my trowelling up, and I have to use a fair bit of water when flicking the brush because it starts dragging the plaster leaving rough like sandpaper effect marks on the wall, so I keep having to go back over it with the brush as it doesn’t let you glide across without doing that dragging thing here and there.
Basically it’s a night mare for me to use, so has Thistle Mutli finish stopped doing regular Thistle Multi finish without the Fastset stuff in as I can only do like a wall or two walls at the most as the plaster keeps setting and I’m throwing loads away.
Any help on this because I can’t see any online that don’t have that green square on it as shown in the picture below.
