Plastering not drying since December!!

Hi all,

I’m hoping someone can help. 1930’s house solid walls no cavity, North side of the house with alleyway directly outside on the first floor. We had issues with the previous plaster that kept flaking the paint and causing damp patches. We had the roof section redone and the pointing on the other side redone too as well as sealing the bricks in that area. The plaster looked like it had blown so we decided to remove it back to brickwork and get a plasterer in to replaster. This was done in December with dehumidifier running and windows open when possible.
How is this still not dry??
Any help would be appreciated.

There is your problem right there
Tiles off new undercloak and fresh mortar, and re jig top few brick courses nearby it
Who fitted the air brick ?

Hi mate, the air brick was closed off previously so I was trying all sorts of things so I fitted one from the inside, hence the awful finish. I don’t quite understand what you mean the issue is, sorry I’m a gas engineer…

Don’t get that roofer back again, get a good one

Because the corner of the roof needs re doing and water is getting into the wall and can’t get out.
Get undercloak replaced , verge overhang re instated and that corner brickwork/stonework looks like too much mortar thickness in parts so possibly re jig brickwork/stonework

Thank you very much, I get it.
Once that’s done, will this plaster be ok and will it dry or will I have to get this redone too?

Time will tell?
This is just my opinion looking at one photo on internet. Could be water getting in elsewhere who knows unless you get up there

Ok thank you for your help mate.

Monkey boy has the primary problem area but when your up there check that that guttering is falling the right way as seen alot of properties where water pisses over end in heavy rain due to fall being the wrong way.
Also cut the foam off perimeter of air vent and point it in to aid rain water run off ( also seen numphties fit the grill upside-down and water pisses in).

@johnbassili was that area replastered using Bonding or Hardwall by any chance?
