Trying to learn

Hello everyone, been dabbling with repairs for years and always looked shockingly bad so I thought I would have a read up this time and learn from the pro's. Already realised I made a mistake as I put bonding coat on parts of the very damaged wall this morning and did not skim today, oh well I'm guessing more PVA tomorrow? Looking forward to all the good advice.

It worked out ok, it's not fallen off the wall yet and don't look like crazy paving so already it's looks better than the last job i did.
