Artex bubbling

Afternoon chaps... just a quick question... has anyone ever had air bubbles in their artex ???

Has happened to me twice now and am keen to figure out what's happening... only thing I can think of is that maybe I am over mixing the artex ??? Have attatched pic

Are you pumping the mixer up and down folding air into the mix?

Is that possible? I skimmed the ceiling first then artexed same day.... the amount of water retained in the skim.should easily have been enough ?
