Have any of you lot gone into teaching Plastering? I remember a couple on here went back on the tools after it being a complete ballache.
I imagine having to wear an LGBT tie and using the right pronouns or you’re sacked. One word about immigration and they’ll
call the thought police.

All that and more. The courses I had to do for teaching didn't teach you how to teach (if that makes sense).
They taught you how to be inclusive and pander to whims :oops:

Beware...a plastering lecturer is a lot different to a plastering teacher too.
I know for a fact one college I went for a job at had both.

Sounds about right that, anything government backed will be woke as fook.
In what way are they different ?

Lecturer is just cl;assroom based, no practical hands on teaching.
Teacher is practical. The guy who was at the college I looked at was a teacher and he wouldn't do the lecturing side, which is what they wanted.

I know a few lads ,just going to work for someone else.
 
Yes mate, I'm a plastering lecturer. It's a ballache getting all the qualifications. Assessors quals, DTTLs (DET or CertEd) NVQ Level 3 in plastering, Maths and English if you don't have them like me.

Current college I work at is funding for me to do a BA in education.

Lots of Admin in the role also. Other than all that, I'm enjoying the job.
 
Well, I’m going for it, could be a huge mistake but I’ll never know if I don’t try.
Pay offer above what was advertised. Increasing each year when I fulfil the teaching quals etc.
Going to be a hard transition, grafting my tits off for 25 years to a much slower pace, same place every day, same people every day, no music, no pissing off early or taking random days off, following all the latest PC b*ll***s and tiptoeing around peoples feelings :LOL:I’m actually talking myself out of it here :endesacuerdo:

Good for you. Just bare in mind that it will prob take a good few months to re-program your brain so stop yourself for a minute if you’re getting frustrated and peed off. It will be a big challenge, but also potentially very rewarding.

If you need any help with the foam module, just ask.

How did you get on Rossi?. I did it for abit a few years back and NVQ Assessing for a mate of mine who had a private training company. Told him at the start I wasnt gonna just sign off portfolios so that he could cash in on the NVQ gravy train. I didn't last long. Might be different in colleges but private training companies don't give a s**t about the youngins they just want to cash in.
