Bag Magnetic available Somerset , £60 inclusive

It's £60 per bag too, not £65 as I said in post..... The £95 per bag at wickes must have been in my head .......

Bag Magnetic available Somerset , £60 inclusive

Good idea. I'll get onto that. I need 4 or 5 bags..... Hence the need to sell a few if I buy a pallet of 24. If wickes will price match tho, that's ideal.

Bag Magnetic available Somerset , £60 inclusive

I know but it's £95 per bag at wickes, over 50% more per bag. If I can sell 10 bags on i can absorb the rest of the cost and people on here can get a bargain. I've got 2 request for the gear in the last week..... It seems to be catching on, both jobs in nurseries. If I don't get 10 bags...

    Hand finishing around wooden lintels.

That was the idea, apart from using s&c......question is, is there any tips for achieving a good bullnose edge around the lintel.....like the plastic bag method for hand drawn bullnose external corners? Have I just answered my own question :RpS_confused:

Ok, maybe a simple question for most of you but giving me a headache Im doing a house at the moment where the guy wants me to leave an old pitch pine window lintel exposed Its a small window in the bathroom, originally the job was just a re-skim and float to one wall however, when he took the...

    Replacement paddle for mega-mixer

I put a thread up a while back when I bought a refina 140 neg.....let's just say I was very happy. Negative paddles draw down so don't add any additional air into the mix...... Supposed to increase working time.....someone once told me.....can't say I've noticed any difference....but using the...

    Drywall compound over painted surface!!!

No, don't think I'm crazy but years ago I'm sure there was a product called 'pink velvet'? It got me out of a few pickles, like the conservatory I did which turned into an oven as soon as I started mixing up! Came in a small bag, about 10kg but was about £20. Anyone remember using...

Ok, serious post time.... your post is alienating a shitload of potential people who don't see themselves as a young en. It reads as if you're only prepared to train a young person, otherwise they're only fit to labour for you. If you've got any weekend work or ad-hoc work on I'll labour for...

    Bonding / Hardwall

Hardwall, according to the manufacturer is suited to high suction backgrounds (from memory). Go the the british gypsum website, download the data sheets, they even provide a ready reconer to calculate square meterage, required water, primers etc. what you need to know is that when using any...

    Cheeky customers should I respond

Cos I needed the work at the time of accepting the job, when it came around I'd took on too much work in that week so got another trowel in to get through the work I had, simple as that. Everyone happy, just can't stomach some people when it comes to paying. Why I now always give written quotes...

    Plasterer Wanted!

In London tho, come on that's daylight robbery. From what I hear, if your an unemployed spread in London at the minute there's a damn good reason so he probably won't want him around anyway. It was having to provide your own hi-vis that done it for me, I'd get through 2 a day :RpS_laugh: ...

I know. On the other hand, I did a job two weeks ago, float and finish a chimney breast. Do yourself a favour......take away the 'young' bit, you won't want one. Go for someone in late 20's/early 30s......they might last more than a week, turn up on time and not complain that it's too hot or the bags are too heavy! Kids today are something else.....I've tried recently and failed...

    Cheeky customers should I respond

A month or two back, I accepted a day rate plus mats as the bloke kept changing his mind on a job. Anyway, I quoted £x per day, per man plus materials. I detailed on the quote an estimate of 2 man days were required. Anyway, me and another spread smashed the job out on a Saturday, took us a...

no, but it can't be too further up. I suppose I could raise the bellcast, so bond it to the block just above the raggle.....have to do the same both side tho...

Ah, i didn't mean fix em with 'bonding', as an BG bonding, I just meant to bond, as in 'secure'.

    Your advice please chaps.

The problem here has been the existing beading rusting and, due to it being bonded onto the flashing has blown as lead expands and contracts a lot with heat. Is it acceptable/the done thing to bond beads onto lead?...

    Your advice please chaps.

Malc, how would you make this good? I'm contemplating hacking off what's there, and using S&C and I'll admit it's because I've never used anything else than S&C in anger ( apart from a 3 day k-rend course I did ages ago which I've all but forgotten. If I prime the block/ brick/existing with an...

    Your advice please chaps.

The Bell cast has completely corroded and is on the way out on the corner beads all over the house but as you say, far worse over the lead. Maybe galvanic action.......I don't know.. The bell casts have been bonded onto the flashing......?
  37. H

    Your advice please chaps.

Right, a pal of mine has asked me to sort this out.....obviously caused by using cheap galv beads which have blown. So got a couple of questions for you. Firstly, what materials, processes would you say they've used here? At first I thought it was s&c but upon closer inspection it seems like...

No, I agree. Probably not the best example to use on a website for that reason I suppose...plenty more! . In this case, the Customer is redecorating the whole room so not a problem.......I've already done the rest of his ceilings!

    Rendering chimney seat.

Guys, a guy needs his chimney breast refloating, including the seat. He's putting a log burner in there so I've advised using vitcas but he wants to keep the cost down. Any tips? Personally I hard walled mine 7 years ago and never had a problem but BG only guarantee it up to 49 degs. What...
