    just got a load of 'bond it' scrim from prestige,its a rep that used to work for wack,he's relentless so i just give in and have another order.the scrim sticks well but constantly frays as you unroll it :tonto:

    used it for the last seven days with varied results,needs a fair bit of water for the final trowel,I've been using a water butt and an elephant.

    when i done the ceilings today i put two good coats straight on,flattened them with a plaziflex two or three times to get it near perfect then left it to almost go grey then hit it with a steel trowel and water.

    not tried the carlite yet(not since the 80s)always remember it being nice and gave you loads of time as well,i think it was serephite for masonry back then.

    staircase was awful,i gave up,it was setting so randomly but todays ceilings were fine.the date runs out in october so not sure if thats a good or bad batch. got to rub the staircase down,the plasterboard was all over the place as well and it wouldn't float over the joints like bg would've done...

    i bought 20 bags of thinking id stay ahead of the shortage,wish i'd just waited,mixes up lovely and creamy and goes on nice but then the second coat and troweling up is a nightmare,the drying is so random so you'll have rock hard patches and other areas that won't go off for ages so the end...

    tried the make good again thurs and today,got half a decent finish but the random drying in patches is still a pain,the only good thing is once its dry it rubs down like easy fill.i found if you can get the second coat on as near to perfect with a plasiflex then leave it alone for a bit then...

    I used it today for the first time on board work,even put two coats of pva on the boards the day before,I've been plastering for 33 years and I tried every trick and trowel to get a proper finish.its either too wet or it just goes off in various areas so theres no consistency.I had 20 bags...
