Not talking figures just where to find rates themselves?
Does anyone use any surveyor software? or is there a good place to find current meterage rates to keep competitive when quoting for commercial jobs?
So I'm guessing the EWI will stop the exterior face getting cold/damp and won't create moisture in the bungaroosh??
Been to a lot of jobs where there's damp showing on walls inside on every floor but the render outside looks good, now I know material used must be the problem!!!

I work mostly in Brighton which is mostly victorian houses and a lot of bungaroosh walls and have never seen a spread using lime render/plaster. Only seen lime added to sand and cement!
Should all buildings with no cavity be lime plastered internally and lime rendered externally so they can breathe?
Might sound like a simple question to most but i've only ever seen/been taught with gypsum products!
Do these genuinely work well on sand and cement/OCR/CPI? Will seriously save my shoulder on big hits!!
Do you use the power float at the same time as you would floating by hand or wait for it to dry a bit more?
Probably have to give it a hand sponge at the end to get rid of swirls?
Plastered for over 10 years I quit and came to USA, became a firefighter been doing that for the last 18 months and I'm coming back to UK at the end of the month, I actually miss UK and plastering! People would love to have the skill we have and earn the money we can, we all moan about it...
Returning to the UK and will be plastering again in February, had a Ritmo L briefly a few years ago but can't afford to lay that sort of money out at the moment and will be happy to mix the OCR/CPI just would be handy to spray it. Also will be looking to get into thin coat silicone finishes so...
Ok good point I suppose if we talk about it on here it could help more people! I stopped for more than one reason. Drinking stopped being fun and led to fights/police/other substances etc, i would make rules on where/what/when I could drink but couldn't keep to it, my Dad is an alcoholic who...
It seems to be unheard of and not many people skilled enough to do it in this area of the US but i've heard New York and other areas still do solid plastering.
I don't think its a money thing?
This is the USG supplier that I found and looks like the same sort of process-
Never looks as good as skimming a wall, when the light hits it looks crap and also the amount of sanding and dust is mental!
I've just found USG veneer plaster over here that should work fine so fingers crossed.
I'm in Georgia where there is a lot of older properties in certain areas with lathe and plaster walls with brick outer walls. I spoke to my mate who is an electrician out here and they just skim with drywall filler and it looks sh*te obviously.
I can't find any plasterers doing original...
I've been told that in a lot of the older properties that skimming is needed the mexicans are doing it (skimming) with drywall 'mud' filler!!! Then fill the house with dust when they need to sand it. It also obviously cracks and comes away from the walls/ceilings.
Just moved to USA from UK to become a firefighter but will be trying to do a bit of plastering on the side.
Been a plasterer in UK for 10 years and obviously used Multi, Hardwall etc everyday.
Anyone know of an equivalent product in USA? Been looking on the web but struggling to find any...
