    20 min set easy fill

He never said what he was using it for. joint filler for holes/ minor blocking out. You'll be able to sand it same day. It's more set & less air drying than Easyfill Easyfill always hangs doing this but if it didn't set/dry on board tapes at 15 degrees then it sounds like a problem with the...

I suppose what irish_spread's been saying is that its only a problem if its a problem. We use a product called linostone for cosmetic repairs on sandstone, also to tie in cement render /blockwork extensions etc to existing sandstone. It was big time here in the 70's 80's stonecleaning free...

And you'll see plenty more in the not too distant future. They've been throwing insulation down them here as past of an ill advised subsidised boom. Sold by badger hairstyled doorsteppers to unsuspecting mugs. :RpS_mad:.If you want to see how a cavity is bridged, look no further

Do this, but strip the whole wall while your at it, as the wallpapers had it mate. You might find a few more bits that need filled. Those papers hide all sorts of sh1t underneath

There's lot's of little behind the scenes tete a tete's like this going on. Estate agents/contractors /developers. We uncovered a little scaremongering scam involving estate agent & damp/preservation contractor in a sluggish housing market. We were told to 'drop the keys' into the ea office...

    Working alone

You get bogged down after while on your own. I just handballed 37 bags of sand/lime rubble (1 ceiling)down 2 stories, into a hired van, then dumped it. Was cursing everyone I've ever met from start to finish. My old school teacher was smarter than he looked, he knew 'what up'

    Screws.

2 different posts & 2 different ceilings . Are your ceilings artexed Rhys?
  20. P

    Screws.

We use 50mm screws krisw1888. We normally use tile batten over the joists & 9mm board for lighter & easier fixing over the sh1tty old ceiling. Can then cheat it a bit if its got bellys anywhere, especially around the window facing. These are mainly tenement ceilings, lath with maybe some gyproc...

    tendering for a contract

Probably better building up your order book as your already doing, as a sole trader initially & see how the money flows in & out. If your turnover forces you to look at vat, then you could look into the flat rate scheme which is somethin like 9.5% for general construction. That could still keep...

    Is Renault Trafic vans good

Mk6 are notorious for rot & fuel problems also. Was told I needed a new pump when it was the spill valve leaking & cost me 600 notes. Some of the van part quotes sites online will try & sell you anything,I found out. Also never let a mk6 run out of fuel. You might need a new starter by the...

    tendering for a contract

If your dealing mostly with vat registered clients then I'd vat register regardless of your turnover being under the vat threshold. The local authority payments should be regular right? And not 30 days etc. Makes planning your cash flow a bit easier, as vat has to be paid when due. Paying...

You'll need to look into it jog, it's all added layers of grief that's a definite Going Ltd could cost you £1k a year in accountants fees alone, but they will tell you how to "manage" your tax affairs. Check hmrc for turnover test, which will allow you to be paid gross. Your guys will be labour...

    advice on k render

Have only used it for dry cast/dashed Rhys/ Its good material for that if it is.Did some areas (20m2 largest in one go), about 9 years ago. Nice job ! Mask the ceiling edge 1st using 2 or 3 inch tape only. then tape your polythene to the tape you've just put on, saves you trying to be neat all in one go.

    Damp help

I've had problems with lithomex nhl mortar I'd put down to laitence where it had been finished with a trowel. salts are even trickier to pinpoint than a source of water. A lot of the stone repairs we do were originally caused by salt migration to the face, but are not a problem when the lime...
