hi mate what tape gun do you use?

do it yourself, but the plasterer who skims it will charge you more for dubbing out crap boarding, re-screwing etc than just to skim other a few boards

hard work and hardest physically than any other trade so if you want to **** your body up become a plasterer!

you can but long days mate work mon-fri earning about 130 before tax a day, have to have the weekend to recover its **** shouldnt have to work that hard to make living, got domestic stuff coming up really cant wait to fuk site work off

as said before lad there on site 7 quid an hour never seen anyone work like him gear there everytime works his ass off and its just so he can be a plasterer hes finally on the tools on cupboards an having a go at finishing walls but most dont realise how long it takes to be good at what you do...

if you call yourself a plasterer you should have the ability to do every job too a high standard and knowledge of your trade to do it if someone is paying you there hard earned money to do it, i am pretty lucky that im 3rd generation plasterer in my family im not on my high horse telling people...

so where do you go after you have done a course start re-skimming or rendering whole houses on your own how can you have the confidence for one thing an the knowledge to get over any problems coz no job is ever straight forward you need someone with that

leaving a top job on everything i do so people know there are decent plasterers out there , applaud you for bringing this **** up in colleges more on site work the more they know when they go it alone

and dave i wouldnt give up yeh times are **** but carry on trying to get in with someone

if you want it enough , i can see why people take the course to get a start but only so many jobs you can get away with , recommendation is everything in this game

nothing against them but better way to learn than 1600 quid course

i dont need the F*****g number mate , 1600 quid for the course why didnt you try working for plasterers for nothing and learn that way being the dogs body doing the mixing, loading up, prep work if you have a good attitude and work ethic there more than likely to take you on , theres lad on site...

not angry mate but if you want to learn how to plaster go work with other spreads , how much did your course cost?

theres great spreads out there without any qualifications but they learned day in day out with other spreads and you cant teach that **** in 8 weeks , so is someone who done a course a better plasterer than someone whos got no quals? coz i know who i would want doing plastering

thats bullshit aswell, training centres get paid for people they pass not fail. when i was at college they passed people who get barely get it on the wall let alone do a good job

being let loose in a car an some **** plastering your house who has done a course is bit different , and i aint living in the past you cannot learn plastering in that time any **** says you can is full of **** , i bet not one person failed your course you took !

those statistics about plasterers are probably true every ***** a plasterer these days and the lads who do these 8 week courses then think there spreads is bullshit but people still pay them , where im working the boss did a course on plastering, the things people get away with on site is shocking

yeh depends on how many people would be interested in it a few hundred people would be pointless but good few thousand even at £20 annually might be worth doing you would soon get sponsors coming in then

yep you and danny could start something on the forum "federation of T.P.F" lol , charge £10 annual fee to members to cover costs sure most good spreads would jump on board coz it will set a standard for plastering

at least then you know the spread on your job has been checked by other good spreads who rate his work and is not some **** who says he can plaster when he hasnt got a clue, how the **** you get something like that going tho got no idea

anyone whos work is to top standard that has been seen by a group of professional spreads who know the game inside out who either accept or dont whether your workmanship is to a set standard

should have something like 'federation of master builders' but a plasterers version run by spreads who know the score, and only genuine plasterers whos work meets the standard set can say there a member , am i talking b*ll***s or anyone think this is good idea?

lads that passed in my college were shite most only spread that 1 day a week , qualifications dont make you a good plasterer !

fair play definitely going to get some tips of you lol , im still trying to get a good client base since i left my dads firm in november F*****g hard tho with everyone undercutting on most jobs unless ive been recommended or worked for them before thats why i gave site work ago the other week...

lads i went to college with didnt do any plastering other than when they went to college but tutors still passed all the T***s tho qualifications means **** all nowadays the standard is F*****g embarassing
