Where is up here ? I could earn over £400 per day on a rate like that. Or in other words £80,000 per year with 12 weeks holiday.
Kind of makes university pointless doesn't it.
I've done the odd 30m ceiling without a labourer but there can't even be many 40m ceilings in normal domestic housing ? Not that I'd fancy that on my own anyway, you need to think of your future. I'd rather be able to pick up the grandkids than sit in a chair with a buggered shoulder and elbow...
One other tip is to make sure the plaster is not too old and has not been left in damp conditions. An open half bag of plaster thats been in your van for a week will have absorbed moisture and this will accelerate its set time.
When I was quite a new plasterer a guy I was working with suggested using brick acid. I left my trowel in a shallow tray and forgot about it. Went back the next day and half of the fixings had dissolved.
I don't recommend trying this at home :-?
I'll probably get a few backs up with this comment but I stick most corner beads with a little bit of gaffer tape. It's very fast and I've not had any complaints yet. You do have to make sure it's stuck down properly but thats the only issue.
How tight is the curve ? I have done curved walls before and got away with normal angle beads. have a look -
If it's in a garden it may be a bit tighter but it's worth a look.
yes it's true I bloody hate it. I guess it's a good way to earn a living and I hope this forum is a good place to let off steam at the end of a horrible day at work.
