    First attempt at Mono

Just finished my first ever attempt at any Mono, a few bits I wasn't happy with but I can pick fault in pretty much everything I do, few awqward bits (aluminium windows fitted with tiny margins so had to run stops instead of angle beads etc/) Also had to whack an extra expansion joint in to...

    Rendering base of fountain

I've been asked by a mate of mine if I fancy rendering the base of this fountain.. it's for his Dad and the guy he normally uses isn't available so mates come to me. I can render, do the occasional small job but leave it at that normally as work alone (by no means a rendering expert). I've...

    Solid wall and cold spots

Can someone here just clarify for me, do you get cold spots still on a rendered solid/non cavity wall? We all know when dabbed it causes cold spots so is generally a no no, but if its rendered does this not create one mahoosive cold spot? Stupid question to some but been bugging me! x

    Vitcas heat proof plaster

Anyone used this? Plastering inside and surround of a fireplace in it as we speak and its completely unworkable. Mix it up in bucket to workable consistancy (so I thought), soon as I move it around the consistancy changes and it goes gloopy and runny, same as the areas I'm trying to trowel. At...

    Drain pipes

Probably a simple question to many of you but what do you do with the main drain pipes coming down from the gutter if you need to remove it to render a wall? A lot of the time brackets can be removed and re fitted, that's no problem but if the pipe needs completely removing and re fitting? Is...
