Hi,
Need a quote for a 3 bed semi. Not sure if I should go wit K Rend or Parex so any advice would be helpful.
Based in Bradford, area to be covered is approx 90sqm but would need to be checked.
Cheers.
Thanks for the input guys. It’s safe to say with that information don’t think I will be using him. Found someone that will be carrying out the full process including the base and meshing.
He was a recommendation, seen some of this work too. However, he tried telling me that a base coat wouldn't be needed as he's applying with a machine! Sounded a little sus to me hence why I've asked the question on here.
Hi lads,
What is the normal process for applying a silicone based render from K Rend? Someone is willing to do the job using a machine but I'm wanting to know if a base coat and mesh would still be needed when applying with a machine?
Isn't a forum a place to come ask the experts for an unbiased opinion instead going to people or tradesmen that will push a product they get the best deal on or try to sell themselves as the best thing since sliced bread??
Everyone I've had quotes from have told me that K Rend (silicone based) is the better product. Conflicting information being given. Is Parex a scratch render?
Well that makes sense. I'd say on a whole the walls feel smooth in most places, but for the bits that don't, what do I do with them? Sand? And what would I be filling if that is also required?
No, not too expensive. Quite happy with the price for skimming the whole house as long as the job is a good one! I've been running my hand over the walls and can feel the plaster dip and weave... Now not sure if it's all level! Is that normal for re-skimmed walls?
Hi guys,
Just had one of my rooms re-skimmed and was wanting the opinions of the more experienced plasters on here. Is it worth having these guys finish the remainder of the house?
Lads,
Having settled on for a plasterer (have another on here) I am also need a quality renderer for the same property. Also want to know what product is preferred, K Rend or Parex on here?
Thanks
Yeah just seen that!! It was a long day and very close to my bed time when I posted... Lol
So what should a good job look like? I have a lad coming to mine on Monday whose been recommended but not sure what I should be comparing against.
Hi guys,
New to the forum and not in need of a good plasterer to re-skin a 3 bed semi. Kitchen does not need doing apart from a couple of touch up's where I've had new wiring installed.
Based in Bradford, W.Yorkshire.
Cheers
