sounds like proyal XXI, same kind of application as mp75 (one coat) and the spanish then go over with a very wet skim product just to fill any holes /marks etc, basically scraped on.
Not many dedicated undercoats in spain, more one coat style products that could be used as an undercoat maybe/, Proyal XXI or proyal max, and for finish the closest thing you can get is placofinish, in fact its as good if not better than multi.
A freind of mine living and working as a plasterer in boksburg, johannesburg south africa, is considering a permanent move to the uk. my question is what qualifications does he need to work on site? as in south africa none are required. I know he will need cscs but will he need an nvq minimum...
Rhinolite is the main brand of plasters in SA,if your in jo-burg or cape town you should be able to get a product called Rhinolite 4 board, its in a red/white bag and is used more or less as multi finish.
on a private job My boss (I was an apprentice at the time) had a S..t in a bucket then goes and digs a hole in the flower bed to bury it, mean while the lady comes home asks wher the gaffer is, i said hes out the back getting some water, she goes out and catches him just pouring the turd in the...
if you really need levelling strips to work from why not just form 1-2" screeds fom the backing plaster and let it set, at the same intervals you would put your depth beads, float inbetween and skim.
Its the resin primer i have, so just to clarify classic will not stick well to this? I understand that doing the job properly i would need to use carrera as a base coat for this reason but will it give me a feel for the materials if all done in classic. (not bothered if its falls off a couple of...
Bought some materials to have a go, just one question can i use classic as a base coat or do i need carrera? (as this is how its done on the decorative plastering dvd) again just messing on some boards so will it work ok all done in classic?
Or put a couple of nails through the board into the brick/block joints and remove when set or cut the side boards to allow you to rest the top board on them
Help please!
just want to try venetian (marble) plastering on a couple of boards as it looks quite interesting, just been on the decorative plastering website looking at materials and dont really know which to buy, so could someone give me a list including materials tools etc I would need, as i...
Dont really understand what you mean regarding the wood??? putting some pictures up will help, and 12.5mm board and dry wall adhesive. and you dont need 5 boards 2 will be sufficient to make up 2-3 inches.
Be easier to dab plasterboard on the reveals to make up that depth, stick board beads on, patch back to plaster on face of the wall and skim reveals.
Just noticed your tiling, no need to skim just tile straight on the board.
Started in 84 on yts followed by 3 year apprenticeship, got all my papers etc, also had another lad work along side us but no college or proper apprenticeship still turned a good lad, I think its all down to working with a good spread whos willing to take the time to teach you properly.
Skimming the wall would not make it level, it only goes on at approx 2mm thickness and is purely to provide a decorative surface eg paint paper.. skimming is unecccesary before tiling. however i agree that some effort should have been made to straighten/ flaten the wall before tiling with...
" What I particularly like about this site is that there is no known way to anticipate the route by which abuse will be heaped on the contributors. . "
Brilliant and so true lol
Just a note of caution, but be sure to use local skim products as i beleive the paper on the board is different so english plasters such as multi or board finish may have adhesion issues, my parents live in france and were told this when they had some work done, couldnt say if its 100% true but...
Tell your mate to get a plasterer to do it , its obviously to much for you as you have very little experience. stick to the straight forward stuff , with time comes experience.
I did the same as you as regards apprentiship etc, Sat the health and safety test, all i had to do after that was send off a copy of my apprentiship papers and city and guilds certificates, and the issued me with a gold CSCS card.
