I just soak trowel in brick acid using a tilers grout bucket.Leave for approx 2 hours then simply wash with water. Been doing mine for about 7 years this way.used on numerous trowels with no damage EVER

Hi big Steve Had issues with mine aswell untill i removed the small metal piece on the end that slots in,where the end of the screw comes thru Now i have three guns. No problems since.Hope this helps
