I'm after one of these - 11", Pre-worn, and stainless steel.

Trying to find one that is 11" pre-worn and stainless is proving to be a pain in the arse. There are plenty of 13"'ers around but as a relative beginner I think the 11" may be a little easier to handle.

Any help much appeciated.

Cheers lads.

Yeah looked on there. Transtools sell one but it's a gold blade - dunno if it might be a bit 'bling' for my level...

...that leads to another question, are the gold bladed trowels any different in terms of quality? Or is it purely cosmetic?

The gold finish on MT trowels is a laquer ive got a couple one i washed off with a brush that had s brick acid on and it brought the gold finish off

Ah right, maybe I'll go for that one then, cheers.

Kebab King - I've actually got an old Ragni in the shed. I figure though I want to give myself the very best chance of a decent result, so I see paying a bit more for the best leaves me with no excuses then!:RpS_biggrin:

You wont go wrong with the ragni, most people use marshalltown but there is a quite a few people that use the ragni trowel.

I bought a preworn gold last year but it was cheap on a market nothing wrong with it but as ive said before i can get the same finish with a new unbroken trowel against a worn in one never realy seen the fuss about breaking in trowels perhaps its just an age thing, with me i mean.

I agree with you there lucius - you can get a rather nice finish with a brand new trowel, somehow it seems flatter:RpS_thumbup:

dont try and save a few quid on a trowel mate they could last you twenty odd years get the best

Just an update. I got the Permashape pre-worn Marshalltown in the end.

And what a thing of beauty it is...:RpS_thumbup:

As a relative novice, far be it from me to give advice to others just starting out, but its probably the best £40 I've ever spent. I've mucked around a bit on various walls with a couple of trowels and the difference in finish and ease of use is streets ahead with the permashape.

The missus reckons the trowel now gets more TLC than her...which to be fair, ain't far wrong.

same here mate all my trowles have thier own covers and all live in a bag away from anything else that i take into the house with me everynight

Have you got your missus mobile number for me?
You'd be saving me a lot of time and effort...

There was a bird walking down the street the other day with an arse like a peach. I thought to myself, my missus has got an arse like that...

...in fact, she's got three of 'em.

i made the sleeping bags out of corex, that plastic sheet stuff they lay down on floors to protect them
