Had a proper fidley set to do today loads of nuts and crannys etc so thought id use an old 11" trowel that I used to trowel up with years ago. Forgot just how nice they are to use proper effortless realy does feel like troweling up with no joint pressure and realy easy to get a good finish.

Just wondered if anyone else uses em soley these days for everything?

Got a quandary now which weapon to use now Monday!!!

Ahhh my rock and roll crazy life I lead!!! lol:RpS_blushing:

Always used to use 11" for troweling up and your right much better to use and far less strain. Funny thing was that everybody who tried using it said they were going to get one.

To be fair I find an 11" trowel fits in a 12" gap much better then a 13" trowel.
But an 18" trowel seems a better fit in a 5 metre gap.
My old man used an 11" trowel till he was 60 then progressed on to a 13".

so then no one would use a 14 inch trowel in a 13 inch gap , and no one would a 11 inch trowel on anything under a tenner a m2 , jobs a good un

I do have an 11" trowel in my bucket which has been affectionately nicknamed 'Daywork', (She don't get out much bless her).

Get my bag out the van every day it contains. 11inch kraft very nice. The control is maximum.
14 gold my for Layin gear on.
18inch s*p*r*lex just in case. Great for laying down the first pass of a spray when meshing.
Serrated edge
600mm spat
6 inch mt knife
Small tool.

Every nook and cranny covered

Church, if it's bent the wrong way, send it back to is and we will replace it. Aslong as you haven't dropped it etc.. Surprised its bent the wrong way though, haven't had any reports on that

I put the blade on a level and i touches on the toe and heel with a slight gap under the handle , i have done some oil stone work on the trowel but it just digs in , no need to send it back , ive got a mate who is great with metal type work , he can sort it out , but thanks anyway .

No worries @church. Just send it over and I'll work some magic on it buddy ;-)

Recently bought a couple of 11" Nela Superflexes (one each) I use mine for all skimming work now, love it. I haven't used my Tyzack Centenary since (The Nela is exactly the same size give or take wear on heal and toe). Tyzack's getting cleaned and oiled then putting away. No idea what the standard premium Nela is like but will be getting a couple more Superflexes at some point.
