What possessd me to try and board a ceiling with these on my own. Worse still a bloody power cut so zip gun don't work, and I sure aint using a cordless. I was suposed to set it today as well. Big school boy error

If there plain boards dont have a problem with that myself. But if you were struggling could you not have cut them in half?

yep same as made dead men about 2years ago 8X4 boards no prob now but it dos take a bit of getting used to mind almost broke my neck a few times when i first started using them :D

I do all my plasterboarding my self.If the room is clear i'll allways use a plasterboard hoist good piece of kit

My mate has bought one similar from Ebay and it does the job, no problem.

The one I use was about £500 and really heavy duty.

I'd buy Simps one if I were you. Don't know how well that cheap one will take regular abuse use.

You'd better order a bigger van while you are on the phone.

I've had one like Skim's for around 5 years now.
Lightweight and compact enough to fit in my C15 van with all my tools when I had it (now got a Relay).
Piece of piss to erect/lug up stairs and so far, with steady use (no abuse) it has held up well.
Got props too but only use them for holding smaller pieces while fixing.
Brilliant height on it too - up to 12 feet and can do vaulted ceilings as the head rotates from vertical to level.
Also easy to manipulate while the board is being offered to the correct position.
For the money.....Recommended.

top man just want we wanted to hear

props? youre avin a laff ent ya? hold em above ya head and use a cordless senco screw gun,one hand on the board, the other on the trigger. Fire Away. board up no sweat. dont forget you normally have to cut the board for joist allowances, so its never usually a full board
