Advice for repair prior to roll-on plastering

Hello all,

I've done a few of the artex ceilings in my house with Knauff ProRoll having had a couple of run-ins with bad plastering. Both goes have turned out well, so I'm going to give the kitchen a go with roll-on plaster now. Ceiling is thin artex which is abestos-free. What would you do re: repair of previous water damage flaking prior to applying roll-on plaster. Neither of the other two rooms I've done needed any repair so I have no idea... I've seen posts and videos on taping etc but don't know what a solid plan of attack would be. Any thoughts?

Richard

That's great...sounds like a plan. I'm assuming I apply the bonding over the PVA once it's gone off a bit or gone sticky?
Yes.

Will crack again as along the join. Pb prob lost integrity to fire a few more screws in on the edges and scrim. Overboard best long term option, unless you want to deal with hairline cracks every year until your grey, past it and over the hill.

Cheers Chrispy! What was the bit re: screws and scrim? You're saying it would be worth putting some additional screws and scrim on the wall part (green) and/or in the plasterboard ceiling?
